Prepare B2B content for Google AI search
Google’s current guidance keeps the foundation close to ordinary SEO rather than introducing a separate magic “GEO” stack.
A practical first step: diagnose ordinary search visibility
If the core service page cannot be indexed or fails to answer a buyer’s question, chasing special AI Overviews settings is unlikely to help.
Validate the search foundation
Check indexability, canonical URLs, internal links and crawl restrictions. Google does not require additional AI-specific markup to qualify for its search AI features.
Improve the source answer
Explain who the service is for, what the scope includes, which limitations apply and what the next step looks like. Back technical claims with primary documentation or real work.
Connect observation to business outcomes
Review impressions, relevant queries, referrals and qualified inquiries. Do not attribute every movement to a single AI feature without evidence.
Where FORMODUS can help
FORMODUS reviews indexing, commercial architecture and expert source pages through SEO and AI Search audits—without selling a magic AI switch.
SEO fundamentals still apply
Google Search Central states that generative AI features such as AI Overviews and AI Mode are rooted in core ranking and quality systems, so established SEO best practices remain relevant.
No special AI markup requirement
Use structured data when it truthfully describes the page and an eligible feature needs it. Do not add decorative schema only to signal “AI readiness”.
Do not overvalue llms.txt for Google
Google clarified in June 2026 that llms.txt is not needed for Google Search and does not positively or negatively affect Google visibility or rankings.
Keep primary sources useful
Crawlable pages, clear entities, first-party evidence, non-commodity expertise and consistent facts remain controllable inputs. External systems still decide what to surface.

How to evaluate progress
Compare crawlability, indexability, the quality of useful source answers and qualified enquiries. Google's current generative AI guidance also describes a Generative AI performance report in Search Console; use the available property data alongside ordinary search metrics instead of treating a mention or impression as a confirmed sale.
